Along with the CEU courses the Oregon LEB qualifying course which is required for a person coming into Oregon and needing a LEB license is also here ON-LINE. LERC has set specific timing limits on how long you will have to complete your course. For courses listed as 4 to 8 CEUs you will have 14 days from the day you sign-up to complete the course. Courses rated as 12 hours or more are given 28 days. Larger license qualification courses that are rated at 32 CEUs or more have 45 days to complete the course. So concider your schedule and plan accordingly.

Burglar Alarms

Fiber Optics - Part 1
This is a mini course on the VERY BASICS of FIBER OPTICS. The course covers how fiber works, how it is made, what it is used for and the basics of a system. This course yields CEU credits for Electrical license renewal, check for the number allowed in your state by looking on the ON-LINE map. Before starting the course make sure to download and print the associated PDF file. It allows 14 days for completion from date of sign-up. COST $45
   
Fiber Optics - Part 2
FIBER OPTICS PART 2 starts where the BASICS course left off. This course covers the different types of system design, the different types of connectors, how to make terminations and splices and finely basics of testing. The oourse requires the learner to download and print the PDF file for this course so you well be able reference it during the course. This course yields CEU credits for electrical license renewal in many states, check the ON-LINE map for the amount in your state. The completion time allowed is 14 days from sign-up. COST $75
   
Access Control Basics
This course explains the different requirements for a ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM. It is based on NFPA standards dealing with access control. There are 9 quizes in the six different lessons within this course. It starts with a basic glossary and goes through different technologies for gaining entrance, to power supplies, design, installation requirements, maintenance, documentation and testing. The digital liburary has a 39 page manual to use while going through the course. COST $75
   
2008 NEC Changes - 8 hr - Oregon
This course is written for JME, JMBE, LEA, LEB, LTR, SIG licensed personnel in Oregon. This will complete all the CODE CHANGE requirements of a license cycle. This course has two specific parts. The first is big - it is the changes to the NEC that happened between 2005-2008. The second smaller part is made up of three parts: 1) what the different licenses above are LEGAL to do in Oregon. 2) The changes to the new NEC that are specific to Oregon Licensees working within the state. 3) a outline on what types of electrical permits there are in Oregon, their uses, and how to apply for them. COST $75
   
LEB License Qualifying Course
This course is also credited with 8CC and 16CR CEUs for License renewal in Oregon. Remember to download both PDF files prior to starting this course you are also required to have a copy of the 2008 NEC at hand. If you need to buy a copy of the 2008 NEC go to the NFPA Bookstore on our main LERC website to order one. Since this course is a multi part course with both the NEC and Data/Telco programs in it, the amount of time allowed to complete it is 30 days from sign-up. Make sure to download BOTH PDF files before you start. The course is only for personnel qualification for the LEB license. COST $200
   
Fire Alarm Basics - Part 1
The first of a group of courses that cover the NEC and the Fire Alarm Code. This first part covers the National Code (NFPA 70-2005) and Chapters 1 thru 4 of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72-2002). In order to complete this or any other part of the Fire Alarm Basics Courses it is a necessity to have both the NEC and Fire Alarm Code at hand. This is a approved CEU course for license renewal, check the ON-LINE map for the amount allowed in your state. This course allots 14 days for completion. COST $75
   
Fire Alarm Basics - Part 2
The second of a group of courses that cover the NEC and the Fire Alarm Code.
